How do I register my boat and what do I
need?
If you have received a pre-printed registration
renewal
in the mail from the
State of NH you may do one of two things: sign the renewal registration in the lower
left-hand corner of the front page along with your
check to the State of NH and
they will mail
the decals and your registration back to you; or you may bring your renewal
registration to any authorized marina (Lanes End Marina is one) and receive your
registration and decals on that day. There is an additional $5.00 agent
fee for this service. If you store
your boat
with Lanes End
Marina you also have the option to mail
the renewal registration to us to be
picked up and paid for when you pick up your boat.
For our storage customers: If the State mails the boat registration to you in the fall for the 2008
season, to avoid
misplacing it, you
could send it to us, (no money at this time, please).
Be sure you have signed
your renewal registration in the lower left-hand corner of the front page. Do
not date the renewal registration. When
you pick up your
boat in the Spring, your registration will be in the boat and
the decals will be on
your boat.
If
you do not have the pre-printed registration
you must bring the following
to
an authorized marina:
1) Documentation (i.e., Bill of Sale, a Certificate of Title or an old
registration)
showing you are the owner of the vessel which
should include the following
information: hull identification number, boat make, year of
manufacture, length,
horsepower and Bow Number;
2) Your current driver’s license; and,
3) A check for the
registration fee (which
will be determined once the paperwork
is filled out). If it is a new boat or a
boat with out-of-state bow numbers, you
will
be assigned a
New Hampshire Bow Number at the time of registration.

What are the advantages to inside storage versus
shrink wrap?
Shrink
wrapping does not allow air to circulate through the interior of the boat;
therefore moisture
builds up and can cause staining or other damage. While there is shrink
wrap available with “vents” this still does not allow proper circulation.
Shrink wrapping your boat is akin
to putting food in a
plastic bag and throwing it in
the refrigerator (condensation, anyone?).

By 2008
every driver of a boat in NH, 16 years old and above, with a motor of more than
25 horsepower must either take an eight-hour safety course or pass an exam – and
carry
the certificate to prove it. Drivers without a certificate will be fined $50
for the first offense
and up to $250 for
subsequent offenses. To find out when you need to be
certified visit www.state.nh.us/safety/ss/rules.html
for certificate requirement dates.

How do I take the Boating
Safety Course?
You may
receive your boating safety certificate by on of the following ways:
1) Enroll in an
eight-hour Boating Safety Course.
2) Take a study course with a video and mail-in exam.
To find out dates and locations for the
eight-hour study
course go to
www.state.nh.us/safety/ss/links.html. For information
about online or video study
courses and exams visit
www.boat-ed.com/nh.

How do I apply
for a mooring on my waterfront property?
You can get an
application from the State of NH by calling 603/293-0095. You must mail to the
State a current registration for your moored boat along with the mooring
application (see above
for instructions on how to register your boat). Like your registration, your
mooring decal needs
to be updated yearly.

Do you
have dock slips available?
Lanes End
Marina has 60 dock slips and 4 moorings that are currently leased on a seasonal
basis. Customers who
are
currently leasing have the option to lease the same slip again the following
year – and often this is
what happens. We have some slips available each year. Contact us for
availability. We are currently taking names for a waiting list. You
will need to provide the year, make/model, length and beam size of your boat.

Do you sell gas and what
are your gas hours?
Yes, weather permitting. Our
pumps are available seven days a week 9:00 am- 5:00 pm
from July to Labor Day.
At Lanes End
Marina we realize your boat is one of your largest and most
important investments. We also realize how important it is to have
a safe and trouble free boating season. That is why we have become
a Certified ValvTect Marina on Lake Winnipesaukee. For more
information about ValvTect Marine Fuels please feel free to contact
ValvTect Petroleum Products at 800-728-8258 or visit the ValvTect web
site at www.valvtect.com.

Where are your storage
facilities and how do I reserve a space for storage?
Our
storage facilities are located on Lanes End Road in Melvin Village, as well as
on Route 109 in
Melvin Village. All boats, jet skis, autos, and RVs are guaranteed inside storage. You may
reserve a space for
storage by
calling, faxing or emailing us with your name, address, year, make/model,
length, and beam size of boat and we will send you an information packet in
August. To reserve a space, we require a non-refundable deposit of $200.00
by early September. Please call to verify availability.

How do I get to Lanes End by boat?
Get out your
waterproof Lake Winnipesaukee Map! If you don’t have one, we sell them! We are located on the Northeast side of Lake Winnipesaukee at Haley’s Point,
which is on
the Northern side of Melvin Bay. If you are looking for gas you will see our
gas pump
at the end of the dock slips. If you need service please dock, if possible, at
the two slips
directly to the left of the boat ramp, which is between the two main sets of
dock slips.
The Lanes End office is located in the beige/tan building just above the Lanes
End beach
(a short walk from the docks).

Can I launch my boat at
your facility?
Yes. To
ensure the upkeep of our ramp, we do ask for a $10.00 ramp fee each way for
launch
and haul out.
Please speak to the person at the gas dock about this or come to the office (see
directions above).

Do you rent Boats or Jet
Skis?
Lanes
End does not have watercraft rentals of any kind. For information on
